E-mail Alias

An E-mail alias is a way of forwarding mail from one account to another. It's most common implementation is for companies wishing to set up a general E-mail address such as "info@your_company.com" and then having that mail forwarded to a certain employee. When you set up an alias the account people are sending E-mail to doesn't really exist. In the given example you would not be paying for the "info" account nor would anyone be able to log in as "info". However, people would be able to successfully send E-mail to that address as if it really existed.
